Job Details:

Position Summary

This position operates packaging machines. In addition, the position will ensure materials are managed to and from the production line to produce and pack product and also set up, run, and clean equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Pack all smoked meat items.

  • Supply line with boxes, product and pallets.

  • Remove product from forms and racks.

  • Set up and run all equipment, film, and labels.

  • Clean and cover machines at the end of shift.

  • Learn and follow all safety procedures.

  • Move up to 700-pound tanks and racks from staging area to line area.

  • Use the hand mule or power jack to transport tanks/pallets of product.

  • Must meet OSHA standards for use of powered industrial trucks (PIT).

  • Comply with all safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements.

  • Ability and willingness to perform basic math functions (i.e.: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

  • Ability and willingness to operate a powered hand mule/pallet truck/walkie pallet truck.

  • Ability and willingness to complete all paperwork and record/report product information.

  • Ability and willingness to scan or input into the computer system all product film, boxes, casings, clips, and ingredients for all daily product runs, including changeovers.

  • Ability and willingness to follow formulations on the computer and accurately record and report food safety or product information.

  • Perform all positions of job rotation as needed.

  • Perform any other work as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements:The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be able and willing to push/pull/lift with arms below waist/at shoulder/above shoulder level minimum of 20 pounds or frequently.

  • Must be willing and able to move 700 pound tanks

  • The Team Member will reach high and low levels.

  • The Team Member will use hands and arms in handling, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating items.

  • The Team Member will stand/walk/climb/bend for up to 10 hours.

  • The Team Member will flex/grip wrist/hands frequently.

  • The Team Member will work in wet conditions and cold temperatures at 35 degrees.
