AS A GROUNDSKEEPING LABORER
You will create beautiful environments by providing landscape maintenance support to a variety of industrial, commercial, and/or public properties. You will safely operate commercial-grade landscaping equipment and ensure the upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements.
GROUNDSKEEPING LABORER DUTIES INCLUDE
  • Operating vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snowblowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws.
  • Caring for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
  • Using hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
  • Pruning or trimming trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
  • Gathering and removing litter.
  • Raking, mulching, and composting leaves.
  • Following planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage.
  • Planting seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools.

QUALIFICATIONS WE LOOK FOR
  • Previous experience in landscape or similar industry.
  • Knowledge and ability to use landscape-related tools (i.e. mowers, trimmers, blowers. etc.)
  • Horticulture knowledge and standards of pruning, planting, digging, and mulching.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are a plus.
