General Muffler & Auto Supply is a family-owned and operated automotive repair shop that has proudly served the Valley since 1945. We are looking to add an experienced Automotive Technician / Mechanic to our team.

We are searching for someone dependable, motivated, and experienced in diagnosing and repairing vehicles who wants to work in a professional shop environment where employees are respected and appreciated.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including brakes, suspension, steering, engine performance, electrical systems, heating and air conditioning
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs efficiently and correctly
  • Use scan tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Test drive vehicles as needed
  • Communicate findings clearly with service advisors and management
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications

  • Automotive repair experience required
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment and scan tools
  • Valid Connecticut driver’s license
  • ASE certifications are a plus
  • Connecticut Emissions / CTI license is a plus, but not required
  • Vocational school or apprenticeship training is a plus
  • Basic computer skills
