The Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will be responsible for fostering an environment of technical excellence and innovation while ensuring that MTSI's commitment to collaboration, teamwork, and social responsibility is maintained throughout the organization. As MTSI continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced HR professional who will serve as a trusted partner to leaders and employees, helping strengthen leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, and alignment with MTSI's core values. This role will work in-person at our Las Vegas office and will be instrumental in building and sustaining a strong local culture while reinforcing our core value that Employees Come First.
This is a newly created position designed to work strategically with leadership to successfully execute local, national, and enterprise-wide initiatives. This role requires an experienced HR professional who can partner closely with leaders, drive human capital initiatives that support continued growth, and help strengthen a positive, high-performance culture aligned with MTSI's core values. Key elements of the HRBP role include:
  • Consultative Partnership with leaders and employees across a variety of HR initiatives including performance development, mentorship, employee relations, leadership readiness, and organizational effectiveness. The HRBP will serve as a trusted advisor who provides thoughtful guidance and practical solutions.

  • Leadership Focus by helping reinforce MTSI's culture and leadership expectations while enabling team members to perform at their highest potential. The HRBP will partner with the Senior Director of HR, the CHRO, and other HR team members to implement, facilitate, and influence HR initiatives that support the organization's strategic objectives.

  • Employee Engagement through visible support of employee programs, recognition initiatives, community outreach, and activities that reinforce MTSI's commitment to being a Best Place to Work. The HRBP will champion an environment where employees feel supported, respected, and connected to the mission.

  • Employee Relations and Workplace Environment by partnering with leaders to address workplace concerns, provide coaching and guidance, and ensure issues are handled thoughtfully, fairly, and in alignment with MTSI's core values.

  • HR Compliance by supporting policies, programs, and practices that ensure a healthy workplace while maintaining compliance with applicable employment laws, including those unique to federal contractors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
MTSI is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner with excellent communication skills, plus an ability to deliver and support strategic programs, processes, policies, and initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience across multiple HR disciplines including Talent Management, Employee Relations, and Organizational Development. Key responsibilities are listed below:
  • Partner with the local and regional leaders to manage and resolve performance issues and opportunities.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner focused on a transformational talent agenda designed to attract, develop, and retain the best talent in the industry.
  • Understand business strategies and how to leverage and implement high impact human capital solutions.
  • Analyze workforce data and organizational metrics to provide insights that support leadership decision-making and workforce planning.
  • Help foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurialism, in an environment that requires high levels of scalability, security and reliability.
  • Provide daily support and partnership to leaders on employee attraction, development, and retention issues, which may include handling annual reviews, advanced HR reporting and metrics, and special project assistance.
  • Closely partners with other HR leaders to deliver superior results to the business.
  • Support and deliver programs related to workforce planning, talent management, change management, leadership development, employee engagement, and cultural alignment
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees by providing thoughtful guidance on workplace challenges and human capital opportunities.
  • Serve as a role model and thought leader on Human Capital issues and opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related business discipline.
  • 8 to 12+ years of relevant progressive experience in Human Resources; experience with a defense contractor is required as well as effectively managing confidential or sensitive information; government clearance is plus.
  • Experience in HR areas including Career Development, Employee Relations, Compensation, Labor Laws; experience in employee and leadership development, HR operations, and compliance at a high-growth organization; and strong aptitude for process and technology.
  • Assist with on-boarding and off-boarding, new hire orientation programs, recognition programs as well as employee learning and development activities.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Experience serving in a shared service or support operations environment/organization.
  • Experience partnering with, collaborating with, and coaching others.
  • Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Experience leading and supporting change; can establish and maintain credibility to employees and leadership; is highly organized and self-motivated; and desires to learn on a continual basis.
  • Outstanding team player, positive engaged attitude.
  • Experience with the following tools is helpful: SAP SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, Eightfold, and other modern HR technology platforms.
