Job description

WHO WE ARE:

Aviatrix is pioneering the Cloud Native Security Fabric - the architecture the Containment Era requires. The Cloud Native Security Fabric governs every workload communication path across every cloud, every VPC, every Kubernetes cluster, and every serverless function, from a single policy plane. ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are searching for a Senior Member of Technical Staff, Software Development Engineer in Test (Sr. MTS SDET) to join the Aviatrix Test Infrastructure team. In this role, you will implement and improve our hermetic integration test framework, contribute to testing tools and dashboards, and support developers across Aviatrix in delivering high-quality software. You will play an important role in executing test infrastructure initiatives, contributing to developer enablement, and improving overall engineering quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and contribute to scalable test solutions and quality engineering strategies
  • Implement and improve the hermetic integration test framework to support all developers at Aviatrix
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable test code and testing tools in accordance with industry best practices
  • Implement, maintain, and improve integration tests and end-to-end automated test cases, along with the underlying Terraform-based regression infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and reproducibility across the product lifecycle
  • Contribute to and maintain testing dashboards to provide visibility into test results, code coverage, flakiness trends, and overall quality metrics
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the integration playground - an environment where developers can explore, validate, and experiment with integrations in an isolated and reproducible manner
  • Support the adoption of testing tools and frameworks across engineering teams through documentation, onboarding support, and hands-on enablement
  • Contribute to mocks and simulators for Aviatrix's flagship components to enable hermetic and reliable testing without external dependencies
  • Deploy and manage test infrastructure using cloud platforms and containerization technologies

  • Hands-on experience with at least one public cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI
  • Familiarity with database technologies (NoSQL, Relational DB) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with GitHub Actions, Docker, and Kubernetes for software development and deployment

PREFERRED

  • Experience contributing to and improving test frameworks (e.g., pytest, Go testing, or custom frameworks) used by engineering teams
  • Experience contributing to internal developer tools, testing dashboards, or developer portals
  • Experience supporting tool adoption across engineering teams through documentation and onboarding assistance
  • Exposure to building mock services or simulators for distributed systems
  • Understanding of Terraform, including writing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code for test environments and regression pipelines
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog) for test result visualization

What we're looking for in you

  • A quality-first mindset - you believe that great testing is a foundation for great products
