Hours of Work: 8AM - 4PM

POSITION SUMMARY  
  
This position is responsible for the technical support and quality assurance of the OMNY/ Automated Fare Collection system for AFC/BE maintenance. This includes the management of process reviews and system validations pertaining to the design, testing, installation and maintenance of the AFC system and subcomponents. Developing and maintaining maintenance procedures that assure compliance design specifications and internal operating procedures/practices. Overseeing investigations and failure analysis of anomalies as it applies to ongoing maintenance activities.  
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
  • Oversee lab and field testing of fare collection equipment and software across various stages of development. 
  • Lead and monitor the Technical Support Group in creating comprehensive maintenance procedures and conducting field audits. 
  • Track and analyze Automated Fare Collection (AFC) equipment failures occurring after the warranty period. 
  • Develop and maintain AFC maintenance training modules to support the ongoing skill development of AFC maintainers and supervisors. 
  • Supervise benchlevel testing activities. 
  • Oversee software and hardware product evaluations related to future AFC technologies.  
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
  
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology or a closely related field of study and 8 years of full-time related experience, of which 5 years must have been in a managerial/supervisory/administrative capacity; Or 
A satisfactory combination of education and experience. 
  
  
DESIRED SKILLS 
  • Strong Supervisory and/or Program Management skills, 
  • The ability to troubleshoot and support technical issues using standardized procedures, 
  • Knowledge and experience in electro-mechanical and electronic based revenue collection equipment and operations, 
  • Ability to solve complex problems and effectively allocate resources, 
  • Prior experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting large scale technology-based systems, 
  • Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, 
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
