Join the City of Novi as a Building Inspector

Salary: $80,017.63 per year Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

In this role, you'll perform as an integral and effective part of a proactive, technically proficient, committed customer service team. Perform specialized inspection work involving building construction and renovation to ensure compliance with established standards and ordinances, codes, rules, and regulations. Prepare correspondence, records, and reports. Perform related work as required.

Qualifications

  • Required education level includes high school diploma
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Minimum 10 years of field experience
  • Registered Building Inspector with the State of Michigan under Act 407

  • Proven track record of establishing and continuing effective working relationships with co-workers and the public
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently and effectively provide a high level of service in accordance with the Novi Guest Service Guarantee Policy to all customers and visitors serviced by, as well as within in the City organization.
