Familiarity with tools such as crampons, ice axes, ropes, and avalanche beacons, as well as certifications like Wilderness First Aid, is important. Excellent judgment, teamwork, and resilience are crucial soft skills for handling unpredictable situations and group dynamics in high-risk environments.
