The Manager operates with a high degree of ownership, translating strategy into clear direction for the field team while partnering cross-functionally to support Natera's oncology diagnostics. This role is accountable for team performance, field execution, and alignment with Medical Affairs priorities. The MSL Manager ensures MSLs are effectively engaging healthcare providers, generating actionable insights, and delivering accurate genetic testing insights to clinicians when timing matters most for patient outcomes.

  • Guide MSLs in prioritizing field activities and managing competing stakeholder demands.

  • Act as a resource for MSLs on complex or high-stakes field engagements.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial and regional leadership to ensure everyone pulls in the same direction for patient care while maintaining scientific integrity.

  • Support MSLs in building strong, collaborative relationships with regional and area stakeholders.

  • Participate in cross-functional planning and collaboration with Medical Affairs leadership and regional teams.

  • Ensure effective communication and alignment between field activities and organizational priorities.

Performance & Insights

  • Use data and field insights to keep the team accountable, moving fast, and focused on patient impact.

  • Drive accountability for documentation, insights, and engagement quality across the team.

  • Aggregate and communicate key field insights, including clinical trends, competitive dynamics, and unmet needs.

  • Identify performance gaps and implement targeted improvements across the team.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain proficiency in the role of an MSL, including the ability to support scientific discussions as needed.

  • Travel up to 40% for field engagement, co-travel, and conferences.

  • Adapt quickly to emerging field and clinical needs to support the oncology portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced scientific or healthcare degree required (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent)

  • 4–8+ years of Medical Affairs or MSL experience

  • Prior experience managing or leading teams strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated success operating in a field-based, cross-functional environment

  • Thrive and lead without rigid structure, operating with a sense of urgency to solve problems and advance clinical adoption

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address complex field challenges

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex scientific information clearly

  • High level of independence, accountability, and sound judgment
