2nd Shift - 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm - Monday through Friday
Starting Pay $22.90/hr + $1.00 shift differential

MSA Safety in Cranberry Township, PA is hiring for a Production Technician I for Final Assembly. This position is primarily responsible for:
  • Following predetermined procedures to assemble, modify and rework moderately complex products and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring, soldering and connecting.
  • Following predetermined test procedures and performing minor troubleshooting at the assembly level to ensure proper operation of the instruments.
  • Packing products and accessories according to customer specifications.
  • Adherence to safety, housekeeping and quality standards as they relate to production and the company's objective is required.
  • Maintaining production goals through productivity targets and cost containment by eliminating waste.

Responsibilities:
  • 80% Assembles and tests, including set-up, of moderately complex instruments and/or sub-assemblies requiring wiring and soldering following predetermined procedures.
  • 10% Packages instruments and picks material from the warehouse.
  • 5% Visually inspects and performs minor repairs.
  • 5% Completes and maintains relevant paperwork and inputs information in the computer system

Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 months electronics manufacturing or other related experience required.
  • Length of time required to become proficient on the job, producing work of acceptable quality and quantity is from 6-9 months.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Ability to:
  • Read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
  • Understand standard units of measure.
  • Set-up and interpret results of various measuring devices.
  • Perform standard software operations including SAP.
  • Sometimes lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Use power and hand tools, and ability to use custom tooling.
  • Regularly perform fine finger and hand activity / steady hand required.
  • Effectively communicate with various levels within the organization including training of new associates and temporaries.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Organize and prioritize work.
  • Work overtime as required.

Experience Preferred:
  • Past soldering experience.
