Job description

MRO Inventory Control Specialist

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for an MRO Inventory Control Specialist to support receiving and inventory control functions for MRO "Maintenance, Repairs, and Operations" using inventory control systems, audits, and other offline documents. This role supports the Sr. MRO Supervisor and leadership team in supporting and implementing inventory and maintenance systems, develops or updates procedures, SOPs, follows best practices related to receiving, inventory control, and tracking preventative maintenance activities at our San Benito Foods plant in Hollister, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs inspections and receiving of incoming goods; ensures physical inspections are performed and 3-way match protocols are followed.
  • Creates requisitions and works with Purchasing and Planning to ensure raw material deliveries are met; communicates issues related to receiving, quality, and inventory discrepancies.
  • Assists in the rollout of inventory control and performance maintenance systems; supports organization and cataloging of inventory in tool room and other MRO supplies; provides input on processes, procedures, and workflow.
  • Performs raw material cycle counts, audits, and adjustments; determines root causes of inventory inaccuracies for raw materials and recommends improvements.
  • Ensures inventory accuracy in both in company ERP system and offline documents, performs audits related to inventory transactions.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain management, Business, or related field; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Two years' experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, preferably in manufacturing environment and in MRO.
  • Good knowledge of principles and practices of inventory control, supply chain, and warehouse operations management, including inventory control systems and associated software.
  • Knowledge of day-to-day operations of food processing facility.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, and work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
