Job description

MRI/X-Ray Technologist

We are currently hiring an MRI/X-Ray Technologist to support our Imaging Department. This position is Saturdays only, at least two (2) Saturdays per month, from 7:00am to 1:00pm. The pay rate for this position is $55 per hour.

The MRI Technologist is part of a collaborative imaging team responsible for operating two MRI units and one X-ray machine. As Louisiana's leading neuroscience center, The NeuroMedical Center offers the opportunity to work closely with Neuroradiologists, Neurosurgeons, Neurologists, and a highly skilled clinical team focused on diagnosing and treating neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify physician orders and imaging procedures for accuracy
  • Clearly explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and understanding
  • Independently operate MRI and X-ray equipment in accordance with established protocols (including IV placement)
  • Review images to confirm diagnostic quality prior to submission
  • Perform routine quality control procedures in compliance with regulatory standards and address any issues as needed
  • Support departmental operations, including inventory management, scheduling, and equipment upkeep
  • Adapt communication and care approach to meet the needs of diverse patient populations, ensuring respect, privacy, and clarity
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
