Job Summary:ย 

The MRI Technologistย is responsible forย performing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures in an outpatient setting, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with established imaging protocols. This position requires technicalย expertise,ย strong communicationย skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.ย 

Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists.ย 

  • Verify patient identification, review exam requisitions, and confirmย appropriate imagingย protocols.ย 

  • Prepare and position patients for MRI exams, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the procedure.ย 

  • Administer contrast agents per physician orders and institutional protocols.ย 

  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions or discomfort during scans.ย 

  • Maintain detailed records of procedures and patient information in the PACS/RIS system.ย 

  • Follow all MRI safety policies, including screening of patients, staff, and visitors for contraindications.ย 

  • Regularly inspect equipment for proper function; report any technical issues promptly.ย 

  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensureย accurate,ย timelyย imaging results.ย 

  • Participate in continuing education toย maintainย certification and stay current on imaging technology advancements.ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • Associate orย Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Radiologic Technologyย or equivalent.ย 

  • Graduateย ofย an accredited Radiologic Technologist or MRI program.ย 

  • Current ARRT (MR) certification or eligibilityย required; ARRT (R) preferred.ย 

  • Active state licensure (if applicable).ย 

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certificationย required.ย 

  • Minimum 1โ€“2 years of MRI experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered.ย 

  • Knowledge of MRI safety standards, protocols, and equipment operationย required.ย
