Job Description:

SCOPE: Under general supervision, is responsible for maintaining safety in MRI environment while assessing patients and safety performing routine MRI procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedure and protocols; ensures patient safety, technical quality and timely transfer of data; fabricates any necessary immobilization devices prior to scan as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform diagnostic MRI scans for routine radiologic exams.
  • Perform MRI scans for radiation treatment planning purposes.
  • Providing expert advice and building protocols
  • Transporting patients if no personnel is available.
  • Performs other related responsibilities as required and/or directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an AMA accredited program in radiologic technology.
  • 5 years experience as MRI Technologist.
  • Registered by ARRT with current License by the state of Louisiana
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • ARRT advanced MR certification
