MRI Technologist Lead Job Description
The Company:
Since 1975, Elizabeth Wende Breast Center has been serving the greater Rochester, NY area with superior breast imaging technology and patient care. As the first dedicated breast clinic in the United States, EWBC is a committed leader in the field of breast imaging and breast cancer diagnosis.
The Position:
Serves as the leader of the MRI Technologists. This position works with a team, using MRI to serve our high risk and newly diagnosed patients. The position offers full time with no holidays or call.
General Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Review MRI procedure with the patient
  • Perform breast MRI and assist with MRI-guided biopsies
  • Work closely with radiologists, High-Risk Manager and support staff
  • Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with regulations

Lead Responsibilities:
  • Prepare weekly MRI staff schedule for technologists/assistants
  • Consistently provide communication of protocol and policy changes/upgrades with MRI staff
  • Work with equipment vendors to schedule preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment issues/needs
  • Oversee daily, weekly QC compliance
  • Assist with emergency training and implementation
  • Maintain ACR accreditation
  • Reviews patient history for any contraindications, pre-medication needs and general patient preparation requirements
  • Maintains collaborative working relationship with High-Risk Manager and radiologists
  • Manages inventory of medical supplies and places order requests as needed

Qualifications:
  • Current state licensing
  • CPR certification
  • Breast MRI experience
  • MRI Certification
  • Injection certification preferred (willing to train)
  • Self-motivated/independent
  • Basic computer knowledge necessary; familiarity with EHR and PACS systems beneficial
  • Ability to maintain great customer service skills in a high-volume facility

Performance Standards
The MRI Technologist Lead is expected to perform well in a team environment, also possessing the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The expectation is that the needs of the patient are always the priority. The ability to multitask and attention to detail is essential in this role. This position reports directly to the High-Risk Department Manager.
Hourly $50.00-$60.00
