Status: Per Diem

Shift: Evenings (8hr)

Pay Rate*: 54.00/hr

Position Summary

The MRI Technologist PD performs routine-to-complex diagnostic procedures in the MemorialCare Imaging Center to produce quality images of anatomical structures for interpretation by a radiologist. Provides patient care, in accordance with departmental policy, under the direction of a radiologist and reports to the departmental Lead MRI Technologist. Assists in delegating imaging amongst the staff to ensure efficient patient flow. Actively participates in identifying and implementing improvements to departmental policies and procedures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

        Operates MRI equipment and performs diagnostic imaging procedures without requiring constant supervision.

        Provides imaging services to patients of all ages in accordance with contractual and organizational requirements.

        Applies basic sterile technique and nursing skills in the delivery of patient care.

        Ensures patient safety during MRI procedures through proper coil placement and instruction of medical personnel as needed.

        Assists with patient transport and participates in patient flow processes to support timely and efficient care delivery.

        Provides departmental coverage by participating in emergency call rotation and performing MRI technologist assistant duties as needed.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

        Minimum 3 years' Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technologist experience preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

        Completion of an educational program in Radiologic Technology or MRI Technology required.

        American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT, MR) and/or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) required.

        Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
