Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.
Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images.
To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

  • Displays competency operating equipment including performing procedures. Determines test procedures according to purpose of examination.
  • Updates patient examination history file, records unusual conditions/limitations, documents examination time, room number and technique factors. Completes examination and billing procedures as required.
  • Utilizes good magnetic field safety practices for patients, self and others by use of available radiation protection devices. Ensure badges are worn appropriately and readings are available.
  • Displays a thorough knowledge of anatomy, positioning and of various drugs and contrast media utilized. Displays competency injecting contrast media. Fully competent in cross sectional anatomy knowledge pertaining to MRI.
  • Accurately marks all images as necessary. Assures that the patient information is clearly visible. Performs visual preventive safety inspections of patient and equipment prior to entering MRI.
  • Always provides MRI history worksheet on PACS. Confirms appropriate screening completed prior to scan.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of AMA approved school of radiological technology. and Minimum three (3) years MRI technologistexperience, upon hire and
  • Five (5) imaging overall. and
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, 
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS)


Preferred

  • Previous MRI experience.
