The MRI TECH is s responsible for performing comprehensive MRI procedures while ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging, patient safety, and compliance with hospital policies and MRI safety standards.
You would ensure accurate protocol usage, proper patient positioning and education, timely image production, adherence to infection control and emergency procedures, and effective collaboration with radiologists and healthcare staff to support quality patient care.
This role reports to the Imaging Manager.

• Experience with patient assessment, MRI safety screening, and contrast administration procedures
• Collaboration with radiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Knowledge of MRI physics, quality assurance processes, and emergency response procedures

Essential Job Duties:
• Perform comprehensive MRI procedures including correct protocol usage, patient positioning, patient education, and producing high-quality diagnostic images in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with MRI safety standards, infection control policies, and hospital procedures
• Administer contrast media and complete appropriate patient screening and documentation
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to support accurate diagnostic imaging and patient care
• Maintain MRI equipment, assist with quality control processes, and support department operational needs
• Assist with scheduling, patient registration, inventory management, and additional administrative responsibilities as assigned
• Participate in cross-training opportunities and provide guidance to students and new employees
Qualifications:
• Completion of a formal Radiology technical training program approved by the A.M.A.
• ARRT Registered or Registry eligible
• At least 1 year of MRI experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of MRI safety, magnetic field precautions, anatomy, and MRI physics
• Flexible work schedule to meet departmental demands and weekend coverage requirements
• Ability to take on-call hours and respond to callbacks within required timeframes
• Must meet all weekend option guidelines
Licenses / Certifications:
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or ARRT-eligible, including compliance with continuing education requirements
• Advanced Registry by the ARRT in MRI preferred
• Certification by the Indiana State Department of Health (Diagnostic X-Ray Machine Operator)
