Job description

This is a full-time MRI Technologist position located at West Hospital. The hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 5p-3:30a.

Sign-on bonus available to eligible applicants!

Possesses knowledge of MRI safety and safety zones.  Reviews patient history and screens for safety concerns (ferromagnetic objects, implanted devices, etc.). Educates patients on what to expect and ensures they are safe and comfortable during their scan. Obtains IV access, prepares and administers contrast and is familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events. Possesses advanced knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Ensures the MRI environment remains safe by screening all visitors and team members entering the MRI environment. Displays knowledge of scanning protocols and adjusts to ensure diagnostic images. Performs routine QC and ensures equipment is functioning properly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians. Documents necessary information in EMR.  Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed. 

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning. MRI experience is preferred.
  • Requires advanced certification through one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: Registered Technologist - Magnetic Resonance, RT(MR) ; or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT): Registered Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (RMRIT) , within 12 months of hire.
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
  • May require license from Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH), if applicable.
  • MRI experience is preferred.
