Maryland Public Television, commonly known as MPT, is a public television network that broadcasts throughout the entire state of Maryland and the District of Columbia and into parts of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. MPT is Maryland's only statewide broadcaster. Main Purpose of Job

The Broadcast Designer/Animator supports the production and marketing goals of MPT by creating high-quality graphics for broadcast and interactive applications. This position works closely with the Managing Director and Art Designer of Creative Services to obtain overall editorial and design direction for creative assignments that help further the communications efforts of the agency. The Broadcast Designer receives project assignments and works with various in-house and outside clients to create artistic materials that successfully communicate the quality and value of our products and services.\r\n

POSITION DUTIES

\r\n Design and produce high-quality graphics for broadcast video that fully support both the technical and style requirements of MPT and PBS. Research source materials, devise logos, create motion type, backgrounds and environments when creating program opens and style packages, program day parts and stunt promotion, and any other graphic project as assigned. All materials must meet the full satisfaction of the Art Director of Creative Services and the requesting client.\r\n Design and produce high-quality graphics for broadcast video, online applications, and social media platforms that fully support both the technical and style requirements of MPT and PBS. Research source materials; develop branding for campaigns and programs; devise key art; create type layouts and motion graphics and animations as assigned. All materials must meet the full satisfaction of the Art Director of Creative Services and the requesting client.\r\n Create print media for logos, signage, packaging, presentations, sales deck materials, marketing brochures, posters, and postcards that adhere to MPT's brand guidelines and are to the satisfaction of the Art Director of Creative Services and the requesting client\r\n Maintain all project files for easy future access. Perform routine maintenance on hardware. Ensure all software is updated regularly. Recommend appropriate equipment purchases or software upgrades. Keep current on all relevant developments in the rapidly changing arts field. Endeavor to use the latest techniques in typography and motion graphics.\r\n Maintain accurate time sheets and in-kind billing records for each assigned project. Submit all required records and reports on time to ensure proper billing and cost accounting\r\n\r\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

\r\nExperience:Minimum five (5) years of experience in Broadcast Design and Animation, including experience with 2-D animation, graphics compositing, graphic design for print media, and Adobe Creative Suite applications (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) (Maya, 3DS MAX or Cinema 4D for 3-D Animation)\r\nNote:\r\nExperience may be substituted on a year by year basis for up to three years of education from an accredited College or University in a related field\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Employees in this classification will be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n
