How to become an MPI?

To become an MPI (Member of the Project Management Institute), you need to earn relevant certifications such as the PMP (Project Management Professional) by meeting education and experience requirements, and pass the certification exam. Gaining project management experience and developing skills in leadership, communication, and planning are also important steps in pursuing a career in project management.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an MPI (Message Passing Interface) Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an MPI Developer, you need a solid background in computer science, parallel programming, and experience with distributed computing environments. Proficiency with MPI libraries (such as OpenMPI or MPICH), knowledge of C/C++ or Fortran, and familiarity with high-performance computing (HPC) clusters are typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and effective communication enhance collaboration on complex projects. These skills are vital for building efficient, scalable applications that leverage distributed resources in scientific and engineering domains.

What jobs pay 500,000 a year in the US?

High-paying jobs that can reach or exceed $500,000 annually in the US include executive roles such as CEOs, CFOs, and other C-suite positions, as well as specialized professions like investment bankers, certain medical specialists, and successful entrepreneurs. These roles typically require extensive experience, advanced skills, and often involve leadership, strategic decision-making, or ownership responsibilities.

How does an MPI (Message Passing Interface) developer typically collaborate with other team members in high-performance computing projects?

MPI developers often work closely with computational scientists, system architects, and software engineers to optimize parallel applications for performance and scalability. Job description

For more than 70 years, the Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans (MPI) has proudly served the entertainment community by supporting the financial and healthcare wellbeing of the people who bring stories to life—from set crews to postproduction pros.

We’re a team of builders, problemsolvers, and collaborators committed to accuracy, accountability, and care. Our teams are guided by a simple mission: to improve the lives of those who work in the entertainment industry.

MPI is recognized as a five-time certified Great Place to Work® employer and recipient of the World at Work Seal of Distinction because we believe people do their best work when they’re respected, supported, and inspired.

Role Overview

The Senior Full Stack Developer plays a key role in shaping MPI’s nextgeneration digital experiences. You will design, build, and support modern applications that drive participants and business impact across multiple platforms.

This is a handson engineering role for someone who enjoys full ownership of what they build—from architecture and implementation to performance and quality. You will work closely with product, UX, QA, security, and operations partners to deliver solutions that are userfocused, stable, secure-by-design, and scalable.

You’ll also contribute to new digital initiatives using Next.js, .NET Core microservices, cloud technologies, modern container orchestration technologies, and headless CMS platforms. Exposure to AIenabled capabilities to improve development speed and enhance user experience is highly valuable.

Local candidates only; no relocation or visa sponsorship is available. This is a hybrid position requiring regular and as-needed onsite work in Studio City, CA.

MPI requires employees to be vaccinated against Covid-19 with exceptions as required by law.

Qualified candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, and compensation requirements. Only those most closely aligned with the role will be contacted.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of fullstack development experience
  • Experience in regulated industries such as insurance, healthcare, or financial services is preferred
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining fullstack web applications using modern frameworks
  • Strong frontend development skills with Next.js / React.js
  • Handson experience building backend services using .NET Core microservices and RESTful APIs

  • Experience with CI/CD practices, automated testing, and version control
  • Exposure to working with headless CMS tools like Contentful
  • Exposure to building Power BI dashboards and reports using Microsoft Fabric data sources
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned work; identify risks or improvement opportunities and drive solutions independently
  • Excellent, proactive communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to work well with technical and non-technical partners at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent attendance and reliability, with the ability to work extended hours as required

What You’ll Do:

  • Build modern applications using Next.js, leveraging serverside rendering or static site generation
  • Develop .NET Core backend services and microservicebased architectures
  • Design and optimize SQL database structures and queries
  • Work collaboratively within Agile/Scrum teams, actively participating in ceremonies and contributing to iterative delivery of incremental value
