As a Movement Disorders Neurologist, your days generally involve evaluating and treating patients with conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, essential tremor, and other neurological movement disorders. You will conduct specialized examinations, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop personalized treatment plans, often involving medications, botulinum toxin injections, or advanced interventions like deep brain stimulation. Collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and neurosurgeons is frequent to ensure comprehensive patient care. Additionally, you may participate in clinical research, patient education, and the training of residents and fellows within the neurology department.
