Physical Demands

  • Lift and carry upwards of 80 lbs alone, repeatedly over several hours
  • Hold upwards of 100 lbs or more alone or with a partner while moving items
  • Reach overhead, crouch, squat, grasp, twist, and navigate the body to safely move items through tight spaces, hallways, doorways, stairwells, and elevators
  • Stand for several consecutive hours

Customer Service Responsibilities

  • Be in dress code at all times
  • Advise clients on best practices to safely move their items, including bubble wrapping and boxing glass, porcelain, and other fragile items
  • Provide materials to support safe transport and inform your Driver/Team Leader to track inventory and charge appropriately
  • Inform your Driver/Team Leader where advice or material costs are refused
  • Always use floor runners to protect the home and proper equipment to safely do the job
  • Completely pad all furniture with moving blankets, covering all sides including underneath
  • Safely load, secure, transport, and unload items and furniture with minimal to no damage

  • Conduct every move with a positive, gracious, can-do attitude
  • Know brand policies, procedures, services, and products to answer client questions

    Problem Solving & Reasoning

    • Apply foresight to anticipate challenges and avoid them before they arise
    • Safely solve problems by applying best practices
    • Offer solutions when partnering with the team
    • Stay true to brand policies if any client request conflicts with them
    • Partner with the team if you can't overcome a roadblock or need authority

The most effective Swampers are consistently on time, maintain a positive and eager attitude, and closely follow instructions from their Driver/Team Leader while showing initiative and constantly contributing.

If you're ready to be part of a hard-working, customer-focused team and help us become the greatest moving and storage company in Canada, we want to hear from you.
