Job description

A member of the Marketing Communications team, the Marketing Coordinator reports to the Director of Marketing and supports the execution of strategic marketing initiatives across Creighton's schools and colleges. Working centrally within the marketing department, this role collaborates closely with marketing strategists and cross-functional partners to coordinate marketing activities, support social media execution and assist with project workflow.

The Marketing Coordinator helps ensure marketing initiatives move forward efficiently by assisting with project coordination, organizing marketing assets, supporting content development, and scheduling social media content. This role supports the implementation of school/college marketing plans and helps ensure marketing activities are executed effectively and aligned with the university's brand and strategic priorities.

This position works closely with marketing strategists and members of the creative, web and content teams to support integrated marketing and communications initiatives that advance institutional goals.

The Marketing Coordinator will:

  • Support the implementation of school/college marketing initiatives in collaboration with marketing strategists and cross-functional marketing partners.
  • Assist with coordinating marketing projects and maintaining project timelines within established using project management platforms.
  • Coordinate and schedule social media content across university and school/college channels using social media management tools.
  • Assist with the organization and coordination of marketing assets in partnership with creative and content teams.
  • Support the development and publishing of marketing content, including social media posts and basic web updates.
  • Assist with implementing SEO best practices and ensuring digital content is accurate and aligned with brand standards.
  • Work within established processes to ensure consistent content workflow within the team.
  • Develop familiarity with Creighton's schools, colleges and divisions and support marketing initiatives that drive Creighton's reputation, recruitment and retention
  • Bring curiosity and a willingness to learn in support of Creighton University's marketing and communications goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Supports marketing strategists in coordinating and implementing school/college marketing initiatives. Maintains project timelines, tracks tasks within project management systems, and helps ensure projects move forward efficiently and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinates and schedules social media content across university and school/college channels. Assists with developing social media posts, organizing assets, and publishing content through social media management platforms.
  • Collaborates with marketing and communications team members to coordinate marketing assets and support creative and content development needs. Assists with organizing files, managing asset requests, and ensuring materials are delivered to appropriate channels.
  • Supports digital content updates, including social media posts and basic web content updates. Assists with implementing SEO best practices and helps ensure content is current, accurate and aligned with university messaging and brand standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field required.
  • 1-3 years of relevant marketing, communications or digital media experience required. Internship experience may be considered toward this requirement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
  • Experience with project management tools (such as Wrike), social media management platforms (such as Sprout), and content management systems preferred.
  • Basic familiarity with marketing tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and SEO tools.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of marketing content and materials.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally within a collaborative marketing environment.
