ABOUT US: Established in 1992 as an entrepreneurial start-up offering electric valve actuator service, repair and parts support Georgia Western has evolved to become the largest electric valve actuator stocking distributor in the Southeastern United States. Headquartered in Kennesaw GA we utilize our 25,000sq/ft. facility to house our extensive inventory and provide top-tier quality service to clients throughout the United States with electric valve actuator sales support, parts support and field service expertise.


DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Motor Operated Valve (MOV) actuation technician will conduct assembly, disassembly, set-up, and testing of valve actuators & geared products. They will provide field services for preventive maintenance, installation, and commissioning of valve actuators. Travel will be required (frequent overnights of 1-2 weeks, occasional up to 4 weeks. Transportation provided by the company and Per Diems are provided to cover other related expenses).


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assembly of new and repaired valve actuators & gearboxes.

Disassemble valve actuators geared products when necessary.

Accurately measure, inspect, and assess needed repairs.

Read assembly drawings and workorders to ensure proper actuator set-up.

Ability to use basic electrical tools and test benches.

Properly set-up valves actuators to ensure they meet specifications, tolerances, and other customer requirements.

Ability to operate forklift and crane.

Conduct safe rigging of materials.

Safely operate company vehicles and maintain a DOT physical year to year.

Travel to customer sites when needed to perform work.

Perform work onsite IAW Georgia Western safe program and site-specific safety programs.

Other duties related to the assembly & field services department.

Requirements

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

Valid Driver's License

Mechanical aptitude

Understanding of basic electrical theories

Basic math skills

Read wire diagrams, blueprints & schematics

Use of forklift

Use of cranes and rigging

Able to sustain frequent and prolonged travel


NOT REQUIRED BUT A PLUS:

3+ years of direct MOV experience

Willing to provide own tools

Welding & manual machining experience

Strong Electrical/Mechanical aptitude

Repair of industrial equipment such as gearboxes, electric motors, pumps.
