This position is for Digifabshop's sister company, CWK Associates.
This position will be posted until 7/8/2026
The Hardwoods Molder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining molder machines used to shape and profile hardwood lumber according to specifications. This role ensures high-quality finished products while maintaining safety, efficiency, and production standards.
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Set up, adjust, and operate hardwood molder machines to produce custom and standard profiles
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and specifications
  • Select, install, and align cutting heads, knives, and tooling
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency
  • Inspect finished products for defects, dimensions, and surface quality
  • Perform routine maintenance, blade changes, and minor mechanical adjustments
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and report major maintenance needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Meet production schedules while minimizing waste and downtime

Required Qualifications
 
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience operating woodworking machinery, preferably molders
  • Knowledge of hardwood species, grain patterns, and machining characteristics
  • Ability to read measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift, stack, and handle lumber safely

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as a molder operator in a hardwood manufacturing environment
  • Experience with multi-head molders and custom profiles
  • Familiarity with knife grinding or tooling setup
  • Forklift certification

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with dust, noise, and machinery

Work Environment
  • Industrial woodworking facility
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wood dust, and noise (PPE required)
