Motorcycle Transportation information

What is motorcycle transportation?

A Motorcycle Transportation job involves safely transporting motorcycles from one location to another using specialized equipment such as trailers or transport trucks. Professionals in this role ensure that bikes are securely loaded, transported without damage, and delivered on time. They may work for dealerships, auction houses, moving companies, or as independent transporters. Responsibilities can also include documentation, route planning, and adherence to safety regulations.

What types of deliveries or transports are typically handled by motorcycle transportation professionals?

Motorcycle transportation professionals commonly handle urgent document deliveries, small parcel shipping, food and grocery delivery, and occasionally specialty cargo that requires quick, nimble movement through urban traffic. These jobs often involve working in high-traffic areas where motorcycles offer a significant advantage in speed and flexibility compared to cars or vans. Depending on the employer, you may work independently or as part of a coordinated logistics team, sometimes with access to dispatch support or shift management. Adapting to varying weather, traffic conditions, and efficiently managing multiple deliveries in a day are typical challenges in this field. Over time, consistent performance and reliability can lead to better routes, increased pay, or even advancement into supervisory or logistics planning roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in motorcycle transportation, and why are they important?

To thrive in Motorcycle Transportation, you need excellent riding skills, a valid motorcycle license, and a strong understanding of road safety regulations. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems, digital route planning tools, and sometimes cargo securing mechanisms is important. Attention to detail, customer service orientation, and time management are standout soft skills in this role. These competencies are critical to ensuring safe, efficient, and dependable delivery or transport services by motorcycle.

What companies transport motorcycles?

Several companies specialize in motorcycle transportation, offering services such as enclosed and open transport across regions. These companies often provide door-to-door delivery and require proper securing of motorcycles, with some offering tracking and insurance options for safety and peace of mind.

What jobs do most motorcycle transportation riders have?

Most motorcycle transportation riders are employed as delivery drivers or couriers, often working for courier companies, food delivery services, or logistics providers. They typically need a valid motorcycle license, a reliable bike, and good navigation skills, often working flexible hours or on a contract basis.

Job description

Indian Motorcycle Sales Consultant

Location: Draper, Utah or Lehi Utah

Company: Wasatch Indian Motorcycle

Position Overview

We’re looking for a brand ambassador, a storyteller, and a passionate enthusiast who understands that an Indian Motorcycle isn’t just a purchase—it’s an induction into a 125-year legacy of American freedom. As a Sales Consultant at Wasatch Indian Motorcycle, you are the gateway to the ride. You will guide clients through the ultimate sensory experience, turning casual dreamers into lifelong members of the Indian Motorcycle family.

Key Responsibilities

The Consultation & Experience

  • The Guide: Welcome guests into our premium showroom with genuine hospitality. Discover their riding style, experience level, and bucket-list destinations to match them with the perfect machine.
  • Customization Visualizer: Work hand-in-hand with our Parts & Service team to show clients how Stage 1 exhausts, mid-rise bars, and premium leather seats can turn a stock bike into their custom masterpiece.

Pipeline & Dealership Velocity

  • Digital & Phone Mastery: Command your pipeline using Kenect, phone calls, and email. Follow up with leads with the urgency of a holeshot, ensuring no rider is left waiting.
  • The Clean Close: Navigate the sales process from initial handshake to final delivery with complete transparency. Introduce clients to financing options and ways to make their dream a reality.
  • The Delivery Celebration: Make the "keys-in-hand" moment unforgettable. Conduct thorough orientations on vehicle features, controls, and maintenance schedules so the rider rolls out with 100% confidence.

Community & Culture

  • Boutique Appeal: Maintain a flawless, luxury-level showroom environment where the bikes shine, the apparel is curated, and the energy is contagious.
  • Event Activation: Actively participate in dealership events, bike nights, and local rallies to fly the Wasatch Indian Motorcycle flag and build a personal book of business.

Qualifications & DNA

  • V-Twin Passion: Deep knowledge of motorcycle culture, trends, and mechanics. You know the competitive landscape and can articulate why an Indian Motorcycle stands alone.
  • Luxury Grit: Proven track record in high-ticket retail, powersports, or automotive sales. You know how to communicate value—not just price.
  • Active M1 License: A valid motorcycle endorsement is required. You must be able to confidently handle heavyweight cruisers and baggers.
  • CRM/DMS Competency: Comfort using modern dealership software (Lightspeed or similar CRM platforms) to organize your day and track your clients.

Preferred Attributes

  • The Lifestyle: You don't just sell the lifestyle; you live it. You know the best canyon loops in Utah, the local riding clubs, and the feeling of bugs on your visor.
  • Emotional Intelligence: You can read the room. You know when to give a client space to stare at a bike, and when it’s time to ask for the sale.
  • Relentless Drive: You treat your position like your own business. You don't wait for the door to swing; you pick up the phone and create opportunities.

Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time, on-site in Draper or Lehi, UT
  • Occasional travel between the Draper and Lehi locations may be required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Benefits

  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Employee discounts on products and services
