Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Role Summary:

The SQE plays a foundational role in supporting the end-to-end supplier quality process for motorcycle components—from new product introduction (NPI) to sustaining production and warranty follow-through. This role provides hands-on support in implementing supplier quality systems, assisting with PPAP validation, and addressing early quality issues during the launch and production phases. The SQE I work closely with senior engineers, plant teams, and supplier contacts to ensure that incoming parts meet our client's quality and safety standards throughout the lifecycle of the motorcycle.

Key Responsibilities:

NPI / Launch Phase:

  • Assist in supplier PPAP preparation and submission tracking.
  • Support initial capability studies and dimensional validations.
  • Participate in design and feasibility reviews by gathering supplier feedback.
  • Help develop inspection standards and quality checks based on critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics.

Production / Sustaining:

  • Perform daily incoming inspection support and track first-pass yield.
  • Investigate non-conformances and issue preliminary supplier notifications.
  • Coordinate short-term containment activities for quality spills.
  • Maintain accurate records of supplier scorecards and audit checklists.

Warranty / Field Feedback:

  • Coordinate basic part returns for supplier analysis and early warranty claims.
  • Log field quality issues and help track supplier responsiveness.
  • Assist in preparing data summaries from warranty reports for team reviews.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical experience.
  • 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing or quality (internship/co-op acceptable).
  • Basic knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and GD&T.
  • Comfortable working on the plant floor and with supplier contacts.
  • Willing to travel up to 50%, including supplier visits
