Hernley's Polaris and Indian Motorcycle of Elizabethtown is looking for a Powersports Service Technician to join our growing service department. 

If you enjoy diagnosing problems, turning wrenches and working on a variety of powersports equipment, this is an opportunity to build your career with an established dealership representing some of the industry's most recognized brands.

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving mechanical and electrical problems, and wants to be a part of a professional service team.

Experienced powersports technicians are encouraged to apply. We will also consider candidates with strong automotive, diesel, small-engine or related mechanical experience who are interested in developing their powersports expertise.

What You'll Do:

As a Powersport Technician, you'll work on a variety of motorcycles, ATVs and UTVs while supporting both customer and dealership needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnose, service, repair and maintain motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs and other powersports equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and manufacturer-recommended services.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and fuel-system issues.
  • Remove, repair and replace engines and related components.
  • Install accessories and equipment on new and customer-owned units.
  • Prep new machines for inventory and presold machines for delivery.
  • Inspect vehicles and identify additional recommended services.
  • Develop accurate repair estimates, parts requirements and labor recommendations.
  • Use diagnostic equipment, service information and computerized systems to troubleshoot equipment.
  • Document repairs and communicate diagnostic findings with the Service Advisor or Service Manager.
  • Perform quality-control checks and test rides when appropriate.
  • Safely and effectively operate all shop equipment and tools.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
  • Follow manufacturer specifications and dealership safety procedures.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for a technician who is mechanically capable, dependable and takes pride in doing quality work.

Preferred Qualifications include (but not limited to):

  • Powersports, motorcycle, ATV/UTV, automotive, diesel, small-engine or related mechanical experience
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic ability
  • Basic electrical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and follow service manuals and technical information
  • Comfortable using computers and electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to communicate professionally with Service Advisors, managers and customers
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Valid Class M motorcycle license, or willingness to obtain
  • PA State Inspection License Preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred

Estimated hourly rate: $20 - $23/hour (dependent on experience)
