Job description

This position is for a MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR, PD# D1907000, part of the Nevada Army National Guard. Primary purpose is to transport supplies and equipment intra and inter State using a variety of wheeled vehicles to haul cargo and fuel, transport passengers or to tow or recover equipment. Vehicles are driven in restricted traffic environments on Government installations, and over public roads and highways, or under cross-country conditions.Qualifications:In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Education requirement is based upon the qualification standards for the specific position and is stated under the heading "EDUCATION". Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities, as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific in describing your experience. Conditions of Employment continued:
Currency on out-state tractor/trailer height/weight requirements and on HAZMAT and OSHA requirements.
Must have operator maintenance ability for all types of equipment.
Currency on all types of loading equipment (forklifts, cranes, winch systems).
Must be able to drive long distances, remain overnight at various locations as necessary, and work during weekends and periods outside of the normal work day.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates the ability to operate and perform operator maintenance on straight-in-line trucks which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds; experience demonstrating ability to operate truck tractors with semi-trailers or full trailers and motor coaches; experience operating vehicles over a variety of roads including interstate highways, narrow country roads, and on steep winding grades; experience driving vehicles without mishap in complicated traffic situations.Education:There is no specific education requirement for this position. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.
