Performs a wide range of warehousing activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, and resale merchandise. Operates one or more motor vehicles including platform trucks, and van trucks, which typically have an approximate gross vehicle weight (GVW) of no more than 26,000 lbs. Vehicles are driven on the basis of either specific trip assignments or regularly established schedules over public roads at highway speed. Adheres to all state, local and installation traffic laws and ordinances. Ensures cargo is protected from weather and is properly distributed and secured to prevent damage or loss during transit. Complies with applicable safety requirements. Checks material loaded or delivered against various documents for accountability.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

EVALUATIONS:
Qualifications
Supervisor assigns work orally. Skill to read, write and accomplish accurate mathematical calculations. Skill to load and arrange cargo to prevent shifting, falling, and breakage in vehicle. Knowledge of overall warehousing plan and accepted warehousing methods, procedures, and techniques of material handling. Possess or be able to obtain applicable state and/or government driver's license. Skill to overcome practical manufacture problems; evaluate final product and initiate corrective action.
Responsibility: Knowledge of the locations, merchandise and routes. Ability to organize and coordinate merchandise appropriately. Observes all required safety procedures. Maintains documents associated with inventory control. Driving proficiency is assessed in terms of safe and expeditious completion of assigned jobs. Responsible for selecting routes and obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Physical Effort: Works on hard surfaces and in work areas that require standing, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 pounds with assistance.
Working Conditions: Work is performed inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, and injury from falling stock. Work may require protective clothing.
