Job description

Summary: Motor Grader Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a motor grader to level, spread, and grade earth, gravel, asphalt, or other materials for road construction, maintenance, site preparation, and infrastructure projects. This role requires precision in achieving specified grades, slopes, and surfaces while adhering to safety protocols and project specifications.
Qualifications
 
  • The ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of Motor Grader Operator experience
  • Knowledge of grading and compaction techniques.
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to operate the motor grader, must demonstrate excellent safety awareness, and a willingness to comply with company policy and safety standards.
  • Communication with other operators, truck drivers and general laborers is critical.
  • Proficient with GPS grade control
  • Valid driver's license required 
  • Ability to work independently
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  • Operate motor grader to spread and level dirt, gravel, topsoil, etc. to project grade specifications.
  • Read and understand project plans, survey markings, and grade stakes.
  • Operate motor grade with or without using GPS.
  • Shape and finish shoulders and slopes.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, and other workers.
  • Conducts routine inspections and performs basic service and repairs to maintain grader functionality and ensure safety.
  • Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned
