Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is excited to welcome a Project Surveyor to our dynamic Surveying team in Southlake, TX! This is an opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking group that blends time-tested surveying practices with the latest geospatial technology to deliver exceptional results.

From the field to the office, you’ll work alongside licensed land surveyors, highly skilled technicians, and experienced field crews who are committed to producing accurate, high-quality data and dependable client deliverables. Whether a project requires conventional surveying methods, advanced geospatial scanning, or a strategic combination of both, our team tailors the right approach to every challenge.


Responsibilities
  • Analyze and prepare complete boundary survey by compiling record data and providing sound analysis and reason for accurate property line location.
  • Perform Quality Control review on reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other contract documents prepared by others for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide assistance to staff in the preparation of reports/findings, plans, and other contract documents.
  • Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff required to complete design, field and/or other tasks on more complex projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of project/task work plans.
  • Provide direction to staff to complete project objectives.
  • Monitor the work efforts of assigned staff including sub-consultants and/or contractors.
  • May supervise assignments given to the Survey Technician(s).

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED is required; Associate degree or equivalent technical experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years of related surveying experience is required.
  • SIT on track for RPLS or RPLS required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, TBC (Trimble Business Center).
  • Proficient various data techniques and coding systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of various surveying instruments, techniques, and computations.
  • Advanced understanding of angular and linear measurement systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of trigonometry and geometry.
  • Valid drivers’ license required and ability to operate a motor vehicle. MVR will be checked and monitored.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
