Job description

About the Opportunity

A National Transit has provided safe and reliable transportation services for more than 35 years. We are currently hiring experienced passenger transportation professionals to provide MARTA Mobility paratransit service throughout the Atlanta area.

This opportunity is designed for drivers with previous experience transporting passengers in paratransit, public transit, shuttle, non-emergency medical transportation, school transportation, motor coach, commercial passenger service, or a similar structured driving environment.

This is a full-time, safety-sensitive position operating within a 24-hour, seven-day transportation system. Drivers must be dependable, professional, safety-focused, comfortable assisting passengers with mobility needs, and available to work varying schedules based on operational needs.

What You Will Do

  • Safely transport passengers according to assigned routes, manifests, and scheduled trips
  • Operate company-provided paratransit vehicles throughout the Atlanta service area
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle
  • Properly secure wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices
  • Follow instructions provided by Dispatch and the control center
  • Maintain communication with Dispatch throughout the workday
  • Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Report mechanical concerns, safety issues, delays, and service disruptions immediately
  • Accurately complete trip documentation and electronic updates
  • Use assigned tablets and transportation equipment properly
  • Follow DOT, ADA, company, safety, and traffic regulations
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional vehicle environment
  • Respond professionally to passenger concerns and changing service conditions
  • Demonstrate defensive driving techniques at all times

  • Motor coach operations
  • Senior or disability transportation
  • Commercial passenger van service
  • Commercial fleet operations involving passenger transportation

Previous experience assisting passengers who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices is strongly preferred.

Rideshare, food delivery, package delivery using a personal vehicle, and personal driving experience alone do not satisfy the professional driving requirement.

All qualifying driving experience must be verifiable through previous employers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license
  • Must have been a licensed driver for at least three consecutive years

  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Must be able to work independently while remaining responsive to Dispatch
