Senior Mechanical Engineer – Ride & Motion System Design
Orlando, FL | Full-Time | Office-Based with On-Site/Field SupportPosition Summary

Are you ready to take your mechanical engineering career to the next level? This is a rare opportunity to work on the systems behind world-class rides and attractions—the kind of projects that inspire awe, spark imagination, and push the limits of engineering innovation.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you won’t just be maintaining systems—you’ll design them from a blank sheet of paper. From complex motion systems to safety-critical designs, you’ll engineer the rides and experiences that bring imagination to life.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline with directly applicable experience)
  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience
  • 3+ years of mechanical design experience from scratch or major redesign projects
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, stress/fatigue/reliability calculations, and tolerance studies
  • Ability to design/troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in ASTM standards, attractions industry, and safety engineering
  • Knowledge of ride system design for guest-facing attractions
  • Experience with redundant safety systems and risk assessment documentation
  • Familiarity with large-scale or high-duty cycle mechanical systems
Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer innovative ride and motion systems from concept to completion
  • Create and refine 3D models, technical drawings, and design documentation
  • Perform advanced system analysis, stress/fatigue calculations, and safety evaluations
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate complex mechanical systems
  • Oversee vendor deliverables to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance
  • Develop redundant and fail-safe design strategies for maximum reliability
  • Support installation and commissioning, including occasional off-shift site work
  • Ensure all designs meet or exceed client, industry, and regulatory standards
What Makes This Role Stand Out
  • Dream Projects: Work on rides, attractions, and motion systems that millions of people experience every year.

  • Blank Slate Design: Bring ideas to life starting from concept sketches, not just modifications.

  • Career Growth: Lead high-impact projects and advance within a growing sector of engineering.

  • Great Benefits: Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.

  • Stability: Join a proven firm with decades of engineering excellence and consistent industry demand.

  • Supportive Culture: Be part of a team that values creativity, technical precision, and collaboration.
