Job description

Mortgage Processor

The Mortgage Processor is responsible for the execution and administration of residential mortgage loans from application through funding and post-closing. This position manages the mortgage pipeline, coordinates all operational aspects of the lending process, and ensures loan files are accurate, compliant, and completed on time. The Mortgage Processor serves as a central point of coordination among borrowers, Relationship Managers, title companies, appraisers, realtors, underwriters, investors, and internal staff. This role combines advanced processing, closing coordination, secondary market support, reporting, and quality control responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage residential mortgage files from application through closing, funding, and post-closing completion
  • Review loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, compliance, and program eligibility
  • Collect, organize, and verify borrower documentation, including income, assets, employment, credit, and collateral information
  • Prepare and deliver required disclosures and loan documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and bank procedures
  • Order and manage title commitments, flood determinations, insurance, credit reports, and other third-party services
  • Prepare loan packages for underwriting review and manage underwriting conditions through final approval
  • Coordinate with borrowers, Relationship Managers, title companies, realtors, settlement agents, and other parties to ensure timely loan progression
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate Closing Disclosures, closing packages, funding documentation, and post-closing requirements
  • Coordinate loan funding, investor delivery, internal boarding, and file completion activities
  • Maintain accurate records within loan origination, imaging, and reporting systems and generate mortgage pipeline and production reports
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, quality control initiatives, and investor requirements
  • Identify process improvements that enhance efficiency, service levels, and file quality
Qualifications
  • Three to five years of residential mortgage processing, closing, underwriting support, or mortgage operations experience required
  • Strong working knowledge of conventional, government, secondary market, and in-house mortgage lending programs
  • Solid understanding of mortgage documentation, underwriting fundamentals, compliance requirements, and closing procedures
  • Working knowledge of TRID, RESPA, consumer mortgage disclosures, and mortgage compliance standards
  • Experience with loan origination systems, automated underwriting systems, imaging platforms, document preparation software, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a mortgage pipeline and meet production deadlines
