Your Role: Mortgage Loan Specialist
As a Mortgage Loan Specialist, you will drive Vibe’s mortgage growth by cultivating new business opportunities, building strong referral relationships, and helping members achieve their homeownership goals. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will guide members through every stage of the mortgage process with integrity, professionalism, and empathy.
This role combines sales, relationship management, and mortgage expertise to ensure members receive personalized solutions while supporting Vibe’s commitment to exceptional service and community impact.
What You’ll Do:
  • Business Development amp; Relationship Building
  • Actively identify and pursue opportunities to generate new mortgage business through networking, referrals, and strategic outreach.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, referral partners, and community contacts.
  • Participate in community networking groups and events to expand Vibe’s presence and mortgage lending opportunities.
  • Professionally promote and cross-sell Vibe Credit Union products and services.
Mortgage Lending amp; Member Guidance
  • Interview members, take mortgage applications, and collect preliminary loan documentation accurately and thoroughly.
  • Discuss loan programs, alternatives, interest rates, and credit requirements with members.
  • Analyze member needs and recommend personalized mortgage solutions.
  • Communicate underwriting findings and recommendations throughout the loan process.
  • Advise members regarding loan approvals or denials, clearly explaining decisions and next steps.
  • Counsel declined applicants on strategies that may help them qualify for homeownership opportunities in the future.
  • Provide guidance related to financial wellness and responsible borrowing practices.
Loan Management amp; Compliance
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the mortgage process, including credit reports, appraisals, titles, and title insurance.
  • Ensure all mortgage activities comply with regulatory requirements, lending guidelines, and Credit Union policies.
  • Complete weekly follow-up activities for all active loan applications to ensure a smooth member experience.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation throughout the lending process.
What We’re Looking For:
Education amp; Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related mortgage lending experience
  • Active NMLS designation required
Skills amp; Abilities
  • Working knowledge of FHA guidelines and mortgage lending practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financial information
  • Strong relationship-building abilities and consultative sales skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy
