Job Description
A Loan Originator Assistant (LOA) plays a vital role as a liaison between loan officers who reach mortgage loan deals and the personnel who process and approve them. An LOA produces and organizes loan files; conducts essential communication with customers and other personnel; maintains compliance; and assists with assorted tasks.
Qualifications
Describe the essential functions for which the Job is accountable. Essential Functions are those specific and unique to this position and when removed changes the nature of the job itself.
  1. Documentation (Preparation) - Work with loan officers to produce all necessary mortgage documents. Organize documents into a loan file that is accurate, accurately calculated, compliant, sufficiently complete and prepared for processing.
  2. Communication (Internal) - Serve as a liaison between loan officers and the underwriting process (loan processors and underwriters) or other personnel. Communicate with appropriate employees or applicants to resolve any missing items or issues with each file.
  3. Communication (External) - Prepare and send key disclosure documents to loan applicants consistently by a tight deadline. Accurately communicate with applicants regarding their applications and answer questions, as permitted by licensing rules.
  4. Computer Skills - Use a variety of computer programs and applications for document production, organization, research, communication and other assorted tasks.
  5. Compliance - Meet rules, obligations, timelines, and deadlines to comply with company policy, contracts, investor guidelines, lending programs, and state and federal law and regulation.

Additional Information
Graduation from a 4-year college or university with major course work in a discipline related to the requirements of the position preferred but not required.
