What is a morpho?

Morphos are a genus of large, tropical butterflies known for their strikingly iridescent blue wings. Native to Central and South American rainforests, these butterflies belong to the family Nymphalidae. Their vivid coloration is due to microscopic scales on the wings that reflect light, creating a brilliant blue appearance. Morphos play important roles in their ecosystems, including pollination and serving as prey for other animals.

What are some typical projects a morpho works on, and how do they collaborate with other specialists?

Morphologists often work on projects that involve analyzing the structure and form of organisms, which can include studying tissue samples, developing classification systems, or researching evolutionary patterns. They collaborate closely with geneticists, ecologists, and bioinformaticians to interpret data and integrate findings from various biological disciplines. Teamwork is essential, as morphologists frequently contribute their expertise during cross-disciplinary research projects, participate in lab meetings, and co-author scientific publications. This collaborative environment offers excellent opportunities for learning and career advancement within academic, research, and applied science settings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a morpho, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Morphologist, you typically need a strong background in biology, anatomy, and microscopy, often supported by a degree in biological sciences or a related field. Familiarity with advanced imaging tools, laboratory information systems, and specialized software for morphological analysis is crucial. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and effective communication are important soft skills for accurately interpreting and conveying morphological data. These skills are vital for ensuring precise research outcomes and supporting advancements in scientific understanding or diagnostics.

Job description

About Morpho
Morpho is a leading Decentralized Finance (DeFi) lending protocol backed by a16z crypto, Paradigm, Ribbit Capital, Apollo, Vaneck, Coinbase Ventures, Variant and 50 others to build an open credit network giving anyone, anywhere, access to the best possible terms. Morpho is experiencing exponential adoption, with over billion in deposits on the network and used by institutional clients including Bitwise, Galaxy, and Anchorage Digital and the largest crypto exchanges, such as Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken. Now, Morpho is scaling its team of contributors to establish itself as the open credit network, not just of DeFi, but of the world.
Why Morpho Exists
Everyone has the potential to build something great for the world. But fulfilling that ambition almost always requires more: people willing to trust you with their capital. Yet access to capital still depends on where you live, who you know, and which institutions are willing to trust you. Even when capital is available, it sits fragmented across disconnected networks and hidden behind intermediaries. The result is a system that fails most of the people it should serve. Borrowers overpay. Lenders earn less than they should. Many are shut out entirely, not because they are unworthy of credit, but because today's infrastructure was never built to connect them. Morpho exists to solve this. Full article here.

How we work
We move fast on hard problems in a nascent market with no set playbook: navigating uncertainty is part of the job. You'll be challenged: anyone can question work and decisions must be justified. We keep a high bar and match it with high support: we help each other unblock and share context openly, with low ego. More about our values: morpho.org/jobs.
Role
As a Solution Architect at Morpho, you'll be part of the Integration Team and work closely with our largest partners (exchanges, custodians, wallets, fintechs, and asset managers) to design and launch robust and compliant integrations. You'll act as the main technical counterpart, bridging partner teams with Morpho's engineering and product teams.
Responsibilities
  • Shape partner solutions early: work with Business Development to understand partner needs, translate requirements into clear technical approaches, identify constraints, de-risk integrations, and define success criteria.
  • Design end-to-end architectures with partners: lead the design of integrations with key partners across APIs, smart contracts, oracles, and custody solutions, and architect around Morpho's core stack including wallets/custody, KYC and access controls, compliance, liquidation tooling, monitoring, and operations.
  • Run architecture workshops to align on user journeys, liquidity strategies, and go-to-market with partners.
  • Drive delivery and execution: produce clear, actionable deliverables (architecture diagrams, specs, integration playbooks), coordinate across internal teams (protocol, product, infra, legal, risk, growth) to unblock launches, and work closely with partner engineering teams to bring solutions to production.
  • Scale what works: turn field learnings into better product, tooling, and documentation, and contribute to reference architectures and best practices.
  • Stay ahead and communicate clearly: keep up with DeFi infrastructure, Ethereum, and regulatory developments, and communicate effectively across teams and time zones, keeping complex topics simple and actionable.
What Success Looks Like
First 30 days
Familiar with all of Morpho's codebase and able to answer technical questions from integrators. Has absorbed 80% of Morpho's context and is already making a tangible difference supporting the Integration and Growth team.
First 4 months
Fully autonomous on technical questions, able to support growth without needing to involve others from the integration team. Smoothly onboards integrators and reassures partners. Knows where to find answers and has improved documentation and internal processes.
In 1 year
A key partner and reference point for the Integration, Growth teams and Morpho partners.
Must-have Experience & Skills
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, with a track record of owning complex systems and delivering cross-functionally.
  • Significant experience working with external partners (solutions architecture, integration engineering, or technical pre-sales), ideally in high-stakes or enterprise environments.
  • Significant experience in DeFi (non-negotiable): deep understanding of at least one major DeFi protocol, or a solid grasp of lending and borrowing mechanisms.
  • Strong architecture skills: able to design and reason about end-to-end systems spanning smart contracts, APIs/SDKs, custody/wallet infrastructure, and compliance constraints.
  • Hands-on technical profile: working knowledge of Solidity; comfortable reading, reviewing, and debugging smart contracts and integration flows; proficient with modern programming languages and AI coding tools.
  • Experience designing or implementing integrations across multiple systems (APIs, smart contracts, custody providers, etc.), ideally in production environments.
  • Excellent written communication: able to produce clear specs, integration guides, and partner-facing documentation.
  • High ownership and autonomy: able to take ambiguous partner projects from early scoping to production without constant oversight.
  • Humble.
Nice-to-have Experience & Skills
  • Experience integrating with exchanges, wallets, custody providers, fintechs, or institutional asset managers (security reviews, audits, SLAs, compliance constraints).
  • Familiarity with permissioned DeFi patterns (allowlists, wrappers/controllers, role separation, timelocks) and partner requirements around custody and control.
  • Strong intuition for liquidity and go-to-market mechanics (liquidity provisioning, market makers, incentives) that impact integration success.
  • Experience defining scalable integration processes (handoffs, templates, playbooks) and improving documentation as a product.
Perks & Benefits
We design benefits around deep work and growth, so you can do the best work of your career. Expect fair, top-tier compensation, real flexibility, time together in Paris, great health coverage, and support to keep learning.
Equal Opportunity
We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and hire based on talent, potential, and values alignment.
