Job description

As the Inventory Project Manager, your responsibilities surpass basic inventory tracking; you are responsible for designing and managing the flow of materials throughout the facility. You will take charge of critical projects focused on digitizing the supply chain, reducing lead times, and ensuring production lines operate without interruption, even amid unpredictable global logistics challenges.
Success in this role is defined by maintaining uninterrupted production, improving inventory turns, and enabling data-driven decision-making in an increasingly complex global logistics environment.
Essential Functions of the Job:
  • System Modernization: You will lead initiatives to migrate or optimize ERP/MRP systems, ensuring that data remains accurate and up-to-date across all high-volume production activities.
  • Velocity Mapping: You will audit and redesign both the physical and digital pathways that parts take, from the receiving dock to the assembly line, with the goal of minimizing handling and reducing transit times.
  • Agile Replenishment: You will implement and oversee automated Kanban or Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs to support just-in-time manufacturing. This includes developing and deploying the Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
  • Scrap & Obsolescence Control: You will manage projects that aggressively identify and eliminate obsolete stock, freeing up valuable floor space for active production needs.
  • Scale-Up Leadership: You will coordinate inventory requirements for new product launches, ensuring that all necessary components are staged and prepared for the start of mass production.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
  • Ability to resolve urgent inventory shortages quickly and, later in the same day, present a comprehensive automation strategy to executive leadership.
  • Highly proficient with tools such as Excel, SQL, or Power BI, leveraging data to anticipate and prevent shortages before they occur.
  • Experienced with integrating barcode and RFID technologies, ensuring that software solutions enhance the workflow for floor personnel.
  • Demonstrated history of optimizing ERP/MRP systems, leading digital transformation projects and executing LEAN inventory strategies is essential.
  • Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships is highly valued.
  • Ability to multi-task and have the foresight to plan and delegate accordingly

Education and Experience:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration required.
โ€ข A minimum of 5 years of experience in demanding manufacturing environments such as automotive, electronics, or FMCG
โ€ข A minimum of 5 years' experience in inventory management or supply chain project leadership with a high-volume manufacturing setting.
