Job Title: Sales Counter Representative

Department: Sales

Summary: To take and fill orders at each location's sales counter. Maintain a clean counter area and will call area. Maintain a professional image over the phone and in person to customers and vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Greet customers promptly and courteously.

· Generate counter sales tickets.

· Handle customer returns promptly and accurately.

· Pull, double check, fill and load out merchandise for counter customers.

· Handle telephone inquiries and orders promptly and accurately and professionally.

· Maintain merchandise display in counter area.

· Keep counter area clean and organized.

· Service coffee and soft drink machines.

· Report customer complaints to management, the involved sales person and/or any other appropriate employees that may be involved.

· Keep a wants list of items asked for and not stocked and report these to management.

· Report items that are getting low or are out of stock to management.

· Cooperate with all employees.

· Perform other duties as asked or assigned.

· Follows environmental and safety regulations as well as corporate guidelines on business ethics.

· Participates in interactions to ensure cross training, customer satisfaction and management involvement regularly.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10;s and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be capable of being trained to operate a computer including the software necessary for the duties of the job. In addition, the ability to use and operate standard office equipment, such as a calculator, copier, fax machine, etc.
