As a Workers' Compensation Associate, you'll handle a variety of complex and engaging matters while working with a talented team committed to excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of workers' compensation defense matters, including employer liability, indemnity disputes, medical treatment issues, and exposure claims.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Representing clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and administrative proceedings before the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
  • Evaluating claims, advising insurer and employer clients, and developing effective defense strategies.
  • Communicating regularly with clients to provide updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborating with colleagues, medical providers, vocational rehabilitation experts, and others to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Staying current on workers' compensation statutes, case law, and regulatory developments.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Louisiana State Bar and in good standing.
  • 3-7 years of workers' compensation or insurance defense experience (flexible depending on skillset).
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent legal writing abilities.
  • Experience handling depositions, hearings, or administrative proceedings.
  • Ability to manage files independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to responsive client service.
