Job Summary:
The Park Attendant is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and overall maintenance of park facilities and grounds. This position involves a range of outdoor maintenance tasks to create a welcoming and safe environment for park visitors. The Park Maintenance Staff must be physically fit, capable of operating maintenance equipment, and willing to work in various weather conditions.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of groundskeeping equipment and maintenance techniques.
  • Capable of operating small riding machinery, including mowers, field draggers, and similar equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Grounds Maintenance:
    • Regularly clean and maintain park grounds by removing litter, fallen leaves, and debris.
    • Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment, including lawnmowers, weed eaters, and leaf blowers.
    • Trim and maintain trees, shrubs, and other vegetation within the park.
  2. Sports Field Maintenance:
    • Manicure and prepare clay baseball fields and other sports fields for games and events.
    • Mark and line sports fields according to established specifications.
    • Ensure that sports equipment and facilities are in good condition.
  3. Fence Line Maintenance:
    • Perform routine weed eating and trimming along fence lines to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
  4. Painting:
    • Paint and maintain sports field lines and markings as needed.
  5. Safety and Security:
    • Report any safety hazards, damage, or vandalism within the park to the supervisor.
    • Ensure park facilities are secure after hours.
  6. Heavy Lifting:
    • Be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs as required for maintenance tasks.
  7. Driving:
    • Hold a valid driver's license to operate park maintenance vehicles and equipment.
    • Maintain a safe driving record.
