Job Description
Borsheims is seeking a full-time Jewelry Factory Repair Associate to join our team. This role is essential in delivering our Signature Service to every customer.
The Factory Repair Associate - Jewelry provides best-in-class support to our customers by coordinating and managing factory repair services that ensure jewelry is restored to Borsheims' high standards of quality and care. Successful individuals in this role are highly organized and detail-oriented, effectively tracking repair orders, documentation, and timelines from start to finish. They demonstrate a customer-first mindset by communicating clearly with sales associates, internal teams, and customers to support repair approvals, updates, and on-time delivery of merchandise.
Job Duties
  • Process and track factory repair jobs, special orders, and related documentation
  • Prepare and package merchandise for shipment to and from repair facilities
  • Obtain and review repair estimates; coordinate approvals and updates as needed
  • Enter and update job information in repair and inventory systems
  • Inspect merchandise upon receipt to ensure repairs meet quality standards
  • Communicate repair statuses, timelines, and delays with internal teams and customers
  • Audit pending and completed repairs to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery
  • Tag, track, and route merchandise appropriately upon return
  • Maintain accurate records and support inventory and audit processes
  • Follow all safety, security, and chemical-handling procedures

Experience and Skills
  • Previous experience in jewelry repair coordination, inventory, administrative support, or retail operations preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling merchandise, documentation, and data entry
  • Ability to track multiple repair jobs and meet timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and inventory or order-tracking systems
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work closely with sales associates, customers, and internal teams
  • Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies or delays
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality and service

Essential Job Functions
  • Ability to work assigned schedule on a regular basis.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to see well enough to read small print, identify merchandise, check quality of work on small parts or entire pieces of jewelry items, and to read a computer screen and printout.
  • Ability to hear and speak well enough to converse with others in person, via telephone and paging system.
  • Ability to move about the store from department to department, get behind narrow counter areas, bend down or reach up into drawers/shelves, and climb a ladder to retrieve merchandise/files from shelves.
  • Dexterity to write in small print, handle small jewelry/gift items, operate a computer keyboard, and operate office equipment.
  • Stamina to sit for over eight hours.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment (i.e., elevated noise, steamer, minor dust, etc.).
  • Ability to lift and carry approximately 20 lbs.
