Job description

Job Summary
The Coordinator, Business Affairs is responsible for assisting the Secretary & General Counsel with oversight of the Business Affairs division and corporate governance, as well as support for the National Team division. In addition, the Coordinator, Business Affairs will collaborate with the remaining non-technical divisions and provide support to the CEO's initiatives and activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the Secretary & General Counsel in managing and maintaining the corporate governance documents of USA Swimming and the USA Swimming Foundation (the "Foundation"), such as the Bylaws, Board Governing Policies Manual, Rulebook, and Operating Policy Manual.
  • Board meeting support for both USA Swimming and the Foundation, including coordination of slide decks and good standing checks.
  • Assist in appointment and maintenance of USA Swimming committee positions.
  • Support in management of the Nominating Committees for both USA Swimming and the Foundation, and elections for the Athletes' Advisory Council and the Coach Advisory Council.
  • Committee support for Business Affairs and the National Team, including committees such as the Governance Committee, Athletes' Advisory Council, National Team Steering Committee, Coach Advisory Council, and ad hoc working groups.
  • Support the Associate General Counsel in the Rules & Regulations legislative processes, including coordination of the House of Delegates annual meeting.
  • Assist with U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee compliance, including audit and certification projects.
  • Manage special assignments and serve on working groups and task forces, as requested by the President & CEO.
  • Assist the Director & Coach, National Team and the Secretary & General Counsel with drafting and implementing selection procedures.
  • Support the Foundation with ad hoc projects such as Swim-a-Thon and grant-related customer service.

Other Duties:
  • Grow relationships and collaboration among various parties involved with USA Swimming's programs.
  • Attend Board and committee meetings.
  • Support USA Swimming's Government Relations division.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with deep attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities in a high-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of contacts, including executives, senior management, and business associates.
  • Ability to influence others.
  • Sound and practical business judgment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong research and report-generating skills.

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in a related field.
  • Experience in corporate governance preferred.
  • Understanding or experience of National Governing Bodies (NGB's) structures, roles, and objectives in relation to the Olympic Movement and athlete relations.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to travel domestically, up to 5% of the year.
  • Must be able to lift up to ten pounds.
  • This position works in an office setting in the USA Swimming headquarters office in Colorado Springs, CO; must be willing to relocate to Colorado Springs, CO, or the surrounding area.

Salary & Benefits:
  • Salary range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00 per hour.
  • Bonus Eligibility: Based on company performance, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus target of 5%
