Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Setup and changeover machinery and equipment according to the priorities of the production schedule.
  • Installation and removal of molds in injection presses.
  • Setting of process parameters and process limit alarms.
  • Setting of equipment safety features and low pressure mold protection.
  • Connection of water, hydraulic and air lines.
  • Connection and checking of any mold protection switches.
  • Installation and removal of peripheral equipment (chutes, conveyors, etc.).
  • Ensure that the required raw materials are staged in the workstation.
  • Complete mold travelers as required.
  • Ensure that the process parameter sheet is reflected in the actual machine settings.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Tool Room to ensure machine is producing a quality part.
  • Must have the ability technically to understand processes in association with mold set-up and manufacturing operations.
  • Must be able to start a press and bring product up to an acceptable measure at “start-up;” as well as note any changes on a “PROCESS NOTICE” sheet.
  • Provide operator assistance as required.
  • Responsible for working with tool engineering and other departments as needed for development of new product.
  • Must have basic knowledge of materials and the injection molding process.
  • Must maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or equivalency (G.E.D); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
