About the Role:

Our Mold Repair Manager is a key driver in the improvement of manufacturing processes, maintenance of production molds, and refurbishment of molds with the goal of achieving continuous improvement in quality, cost and safety. In addition, our Mold Repair Manager supports the overall site in the achievement of key performance metrics through the effective, proactive, preventative maintenance of tooling by implementing robust preventative maintenance programs, testing methods, equipment, and tools. This individual is also responsible for the staffing of the department, and mentoring/development of the existing team.

What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:

  • Manage and coordinate the daily activities of the Mold Repair department to meet the production needs of manufacturing.
  • Direct, coach, and counsel Mold Repair Technicians to do effective mold repairs.
  • Work with Plant Management to manage internal resources effectively, taking into consideration various priorities, schedules and costs.
  • Maintain, monitor and repair, as needed, all tools to ensure that machines and mechanical processes continue to run smoothly, or the physical conditions of machine molds, tools, and parts are production ready and do not deteriorate.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and the quality of product.


  • Maintain inventory of all tooling and tooling components; spare stock mold components and mold sprays; and fragile, perishable mold components to decrease possibility of downtime.
  • Responsible for all changeover parts and slide changes on approved tooling.
  • Monitor critical to functions dimensions documented on CAD drawings.
  • Actively participate in daily manufacturing meetings to provide updates on all jobs.
  • Responsible for completion of accurate time sheets for payroll.
  • Assess and determine need for outsourced support and coordinate appropriately.
  • Responsible for all performance evaluation activities for employees under your supervision.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the tool-making field. Must have completed required coursework in the field.

Computer Skills:

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Ability to learn new software as needed.
