Key Responsibilities

  • Lead root cause analysis of complex tooling failures

  • Own tooling reliability and drive long-term performance improvements

  • Drive improvements in uptime, scrap reduction, and mold lifespan

  • Perform high-complexity machining and restoration of Molds, and Tools

  • Oversee critical fits, tolerances, and final validation of tooling

  • Apply advanced repair technologies (laser welding, coatings, restoration methods)

  • Improve tooling performance based on injection molding process interaction

  • Analyze wear patterns and recommend material or component improvements

  • Identify tooling design or performance issues and escalate recommendations to engineering teams

  • Support engineering by providing technical feedback based on mold performance and failure analysis

  • Review CAD models and drawings to ensure manufacturability, serviceability, and repair effectiveness

  • Ensure adherence to established technical standards, procedures, and best practices

  • Ensure measurement systems and practices support high-precision requirements

  • Analyze dimensional data and variation trends to improve tooling performance

  • Support continuous Improvement initiatives focused on cost, downtime, and efficiency

  • Train and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 team members

  • Provide technical guidance and support across tooling activities

  • Support planning, prioritization, and workload balancing

  • Partner with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve tooling issues

  • Interface with external vendors and tooling suppliers as needed

  • Support new tool launches, validations, and capital projects

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for training as needed

  • Starting hourly rate: $39.75

Qualifications

  • 5-8+ years of experience in mold repair, toolmaking, or injection molding tooling

  • Expert knowledge of mold systems, materials, and wear mechanisms

  • Strong proficiency in GD&T, CAD/CAM, and advanced machining

  • Proven leadership in technical problem-solving

Preferred

  • Experience in mold design or tooling engineering

  • Lean / Six Sigma experience

  • Experience with high-cavitation or tight-tolerance tooling environments

  • Advanced understanding of tolerances, fits, and precision measurement systems

  • Ability to work at micron-level precision where required

  • Strong capability in dimensional analysis and variation reduction

Compensation

The salary for this position has a range of $39.75 - $39.75 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
