Job description

Mitigation Technician

Make a Difference When People Need it the Most

Who We Are

At Premier Restoration Hawaii, we help homeowners and businesses recover after unexpected disasters. Whether it's water, fire, mold, or storm damage, our mission is simple: restore properties and help people get their lives back to normal as quickly as possible.

When disaster strikes, our customers are often facing one of the most stressful situations of their lives. That's why we put people first. We believe in teamwork, clear communication, accountability, and delivering exceptional service when it matters most.

We're looking for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy solving problems, and want to be part of a team that makes a real impact in our communities every day.

About the Role

As a Mitigation Technician, you'll be one of the first responders to arrive when a customer experiences property damage. You'll assess the situation, help stabilize the property, and begin the restoration process that gets our customers on the road to recovery.

No two jobs are the same. Every property, every customer, and every situation presents unique challenges. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is hands-on, analytical, naturally curious, and able to think quickly under pressure.

You'll work closely with experienced team members throughout the day, collaborating to solve problems, support customers, and ensure projects move forward efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Respond to residential and commercial property damage caused by water, fire, mold, and wind
  • Participate in after-hours, weekend, holiday, and emergency response calls as needed
  • Drive company vehicles to job sites across the island
  • Assess damage and work with Mitigation Leads to develop restoration plans
  • Set up, monitor, and operate drying and mitigation equipment
  • Perform demolition and removal of damaged materials when necessary
  • Assist with packing, inventorying, and storing customer belongings
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with customers during stressful situations
  • Document job progress using company software and mobile technology
  • Provide customers with updates throughout the restoration process
  • Participate in ongoing industry training and professional development
  • Work closely with teammates to ensure projects are completed safely and successfully

What it Takes to Succeed

  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and move equipment safely
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in physically demanding environments throughout the day
  • Experience in construction, maintenance, restoration, repair, or a related field preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, computers, and software applications
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Benefits Include:

  • Medical Insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan

Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
