Job description

Position: Oracle Finance Cloud Architect (Techno-Functional)

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Duration: Long term contract

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Finance Cloud Architect (Techno-Functional) to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of Oracle Fusion Cloud Finance solutions. This role requires strong functional expertise across Finance modules combined with solid technical understanding to architect scalable, integrated, and high-performing financial systems that align with business strategy.

The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to business and IT teams, providing end-to-end solution architecture, driving best practices, ensuring system integrity, and supporting complex business processes across global financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and delivery of Oracle Fusion Cloud Finance solutions.
  • Serve as the Finance SME covering modules such as GL, AP, AR, FA, CM, and SLA.
  • Drive solution design workshops, requirement gathering sessions, and business process mapping.

Provide techno-functional expertise for:

  • Configuration
  • Extensions
  • Integrations (OIC, REST/SOAP APIs)
  • Reporting (OTBI, BI Publisher)
  • Develop and manage enterprise-wide financial architecture, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee cross-module impacts and integrations with HCM, Procurement, Projects, and external systems.

Review and validate technical designs including:

  1. Integrations
  2. Data conversions
  3. Custom reports
  4. Workflow enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with Oracle Best Practices, security standards, and financial controls.
  • Lead UAT, SIT, and provide guidance for testing scenarios and defect resolution.
  • Support month-end, year-end, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Prepare solution documentation, functional specs, architecture diagrams, and configuration guides.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, PMs, technical teams, and external SI vendors.
  • Provide post-production support, performance optimization, and continuous improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in Oracle Fusion Cloud Finance, with strong techno-functional exposure.
  • Deep functional knowledge of key Finance modules:
  • General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Cash Management (CM), Sub-ledger Accounting (SLA).

Solid technical understanding in:

  1. OIC integration
  2. Web services (REST/SOAP)
  3. Data migration (FBDI, ADFdi)
  4. BI Publisher / OTBI
  • Strong experience designing end-to-end Finance solutions and driving architecture discussions.
  • Experience with at least 2–3 full lifecycle implementations of Oracle Cloud Finance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with business leaders and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oracle Cloud Finance certification(s).
  • Experience with global financial processes (multi-currency, multi-ledger, multi-GAAP).
  • Exposure to PPM, Procurement, SCM, and HCM modules.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Prior work with large enterprise environments or complex transformation programs.
