Job description

At Elma Electronic, we build the backbone of critical systems across aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. We’re looking for a driven and strategic Buyer to join our Materials team—someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and knows how to balance cost, quality, and delivery with strong supplier partnerships. This is an onsite role in our Lawrenceville, GA facility.

Responsibilities:

As a Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring our operations run smoothly by managing procurement activities and supplier relationships. This is a high-impact role where you’ll operate independently and influence cross-functional success.

  • Manage and prioritize daily procurement activities across multiple commodities
  • Create, place, and manage purchase orders aligned with MRP and production demands
  • Source and onboard new vendors, including qualification, certifications, and onboarding documentation
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts to achieve cost savings while minimizing risk
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and contract requirements
  • Lead resolution efforts for pricing, delivery, and quality issues—escalating when needed
  • Partner with internal teams as a trusted advisor on supply chain and procurement matters
  • Conduct supplier business reviews and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery
  • Analyze inventory and support reduction of excess and obsolete materials

Qualifications:

We’re looking for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with relationship-building skills and a sense of urgency.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in production buying (electronics or high-tech manufacturing preferred)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Microsoft Dynamics D365 preferred)
  • Proven negotiation and supplier management experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
