Job description

Summary
This position supports the financial management of construction projects by preparing, reviewing, and reporting budgeted versus actual cost information. The role is responsible for monthly financial reporting, subcontractor and supplier financial and compliance review, and maintaining state tax compliance in alignment with project and regulatory requirements.. 

Duties

  • Participates in the monthly review of project budgets, costs, and profit.
  • Research and audits projects or specific items as needed.
  • Inputs and tracks data related to budgets and project costs.
  • Produces owner billings for specific projects.
  • Review subcontractor and/or supplier financial statements.
  • Track and report fixed assets acquisitions and disposals.
  • Research and file state tax requirements for various construction projects.
  • Continually improve processing activities and reports to give operations the best information possible within time constraints.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or needed.

Qualifications                            

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
  • Has 1-3 years previous accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrates PC computer skills and uses word processing and spreadsheet packages, such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Works individually and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently and accurately.
  • Cost accounting experience in construction industry is a plus.
  • Previous experience with audit firm is a plus.
